Student Records System (SRS)

Nebraska’s sophisticated and responsive online student record-keeping system efficiently creates, manages, stores, and transfers records. Developed, owned, and operated by the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council for Nebraskans, the SRS is an exemplary choice for our schools.

SRS Highlights & Features

20+ Years of Service

In 2001, a collaboration between Educational Service Units (ESUs) and the Nebraska Department of Education initiated the Student Records System (SRS). Consequently, the SRS system offers assistance for the special education monitoring efforts of the Nebraska Department of Education.

Compliance

The SRS system offers an efficient method for updating forms and is “crafted to guide users towards compliance” effectively across all districts that implement it. KSB School Law, a prominent school law firm in Nebraska, endorses SRS for its superior compliance compared to other available options.

Management Features

SRS management capabilities are accessible to ESU and district SPED directors. They encompass various features such as access levels, district data, school settings, and progress report dates.

Over 25 Forms

SRS provides support for over 25 IDEA forms, customized to meet Nebraska’s standards and regulations. Printed forms feature a consistent look from one district to another.

Student Records Transfer

Participating districts have the capability to transfer records securely and efficiently, enabling students who change enrollment to swiftly continue their educational plans in a new district.

NDE Rules 51 and 52

The SRS provides automated data reporting to Nebraska’s ADVISER system, tailored specifically to comply with the Nebraska Department of Education’s Rules 51 and 52.

Advisory Team

The SRS advisory team convenes quarterly to steer the site’s development, incorporating feedback from end-users. Representatives from NDE are welcomed to join these sessions.

Updates and Improvements

Continuous improvements and updates are developed and tested by local support teams to enhance the user experience for both case managers and administrators.
